Assistant Principal Cruz

I am excited to start the 2024-25 school year! 19 years ago, I was fortunate to continue my education journey with a school and community that hold a special place in my heart as the Assistant Principal of P.S. 36. I graduated from Lehman College with degrees in English Literature and Elementary Education. In addition, I hold certification in School/District Leadership from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. Growing up, I knew I wanted to be in the field of education due to the memorable experiences and influences of my elementary school teachers.

At P.S. 36, we believe in “empowering students to be leaders of their own learning through productive struggle”. As the assistant principal, I will continue to work to support students both academically, socially, and emotionally. I believe in the potential of each student, and realize we are not just preparing them for the next grade, but for the future. This preparation will include experiences that are challenging, relevant, and meet the needs of the individual student. I am looking forward to the continued work of supporting the students, staff, and community of P.S. 36. I believe in open communication and a strong home to school connection.
